Terms of Service
Terms of Service
This document governs your use of hellorenn.com and any services Hello Renn (operated by Rennuel and Rennjo) provides to you. By hiring us, using our site, or accepting a proposal, you’re agreeing to the terms below.
“Most Terms of Service pages exist to protect a company from its own customers. Ours exists for a simpler reason: so you know exactly what you’re agreeing to before you agree to it.”
No fine print designed to be skipped. If a clause below feels unclear, that’s a mistake on our part, not a strategy. Email us and we’ll explain it in plain language.
Who we are
Hello Renn is a two person SEO consultancy based in Davao City, Philippines, providing SEO strategy, technical implementation, content, and link building services, primarily to small and mid sized businesses based in the United States. There is no larger team behind the name. When you work with Hello Renn, you work with Rennuel and Rennjo directly.
Our services
Hello Renn provides SEO related services which may include, depending on the engagement: SEO strategy and audits, technical SEO implementation, on page and content optimization, link building, and related web development support. The specific scope, deliverables, and timeline for any engagement are defined in a separate proposal or statement of work, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference once accepted.
We do not guarantee specific search rankings, traffic numbers, or revenue outcomes. Search engine algorithms are controlled by third parties (Google, Bing, and others) and are outside our control. What we do guarantee is the work described in your proposal, executed to the standard described in these Terms.
Pricing and payment terms
Transparency Pricing
Every proposal breaks down exactly what you’re paying for and why, tied to specific deliverables rather than vague “SEO services” line items. No hidden setup fees, no undisclosed markups.
Output Based Structure
Where applicable, pricing is tied to defined outputs (pages built, audits completed, content delivered, links secured) rather than an open ended hourly retainer with no clear end point.
Third party tools and software
SEO and web development work runs on paid, subscription based tools: platforms like Semrush, Ahrefs, Ubersuggest, Screaming Frog, and AI tools like Claude, along with your own CMS, hosting, and analytics accounts. None of these are free, and we’re upfront about who’s paying for what.
Where a tool relates to an account you already own (Google Analytics, Search Console, your CMS, hosting, domain registrar), we request access to your existing account. We do not migrate your assets into an account under our name — you keep full ownership and can revoke access at any time.
Where the work requires a paid tool you don’t already have (Semrush for keyword research, Ahrefs or Screaming Frog for technical audits), it’s one of two things, decided upfront in your proposal, not after the fact: (a) you provide access to your own existing subscription, or (b) you cover the subscription cost directly, or as a disclosed, itemized line on your invoice.
Whichever option applies is stated clearly in your proposal before work begins. You will never see an undisclosed tool subscription buried inside a flat project fee.
Payment schedule
Unless otherwise stated in your proposal, payment terms are as follows:
- A deposit is required before work begins.
- Remaining balances are invoiced according to the milestone schedule in your proposal.
- Invoices are due within the timeframe stated on the invoice. Work may pause on overdue accounts until payment is received.
Currency, method, and price changes
Pricing and invoices are issued in the currency stated on your proposal; accepted payment methods are listed on the invoice itself. Prices for an active, signed engagement will not change mid contract. Rates for new work or renewals may be updated, and we’ll notify you before any change applies to you.
Client responsibilities
To deliver the work described in your proposal, we need reasonable cooperation from you, including:
- Timely access to your website, hosting, analytics, and any accounts required to do the work.
- Timely feedback and approvals where the scope requires client sign off.
- Accurate information about your business, goals, and any prior SEO work or penalties affecting your site.
Delays caused by missing access, unanswered requests, or delayed approvals may extend your project timeline accordingly and are not considered a delay on our part.
Deliverables and revisions
Deliverables, formats, and revision rounds are defined per project in your proposal. Unless otherwise specified, revisions are limited to the scope originally agreed upon; requests that expand the original scope will be quoted separately before we begin that additional work.
Intellectual property
Once paid in full, all deliverables created specifically for you (content, on page changes, technical implementations, custom reports) become your property. This does not extend to:
- Our internal tools, templates, SOPs, frameworks, and proprietary processes, which remain Hello Renn’s property regardless of the engagement.
- Any third party software, plugins, or licensed assets used in the course of the work, which remain governed by their own respective licenses.
We reserve the right to reference completed, publicly visible work (e.g. a live website we built) as a portfolio example, unless you request otherwise in writing.
Confidentiality
We treat your business information, credentials, analytics data, and any non public information you share with us as confidential. We won’t disclose it to third parties except where required to perform the agreed services (e.g. a licensed tool or a subcontracted specialist), by law, or with your written permission.
Cancellation and refunds
Either party may cancel an ongoing engagement with written notice, subject to the notice period stated in your proposal. If you cancel:
- Work already completed and delivered is non refundable.
- Any deposit tied to work not yet started may be refunded at our discretion, minus any costs already incurred on your behalf.
If we cancel an engagement without cause on our end, you will be refunded for any paid, undelivered portion of the work.
Limitation of liability
Hello Renn will perform services with reasonable skill and care. However, because SEO outcomes depend on factors outside our control (search engine algorithm changes, competitor activity, your industry, your website’s technical history before we were involved), we are not liable for:
- Loss of rankings, traffic, or revenue not caused by our negligence or breach of these Terms.
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from our services.
Our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific engagement giving rise to the claim.
Termination
We reserve the right to pause or terminate services if payment terms are not met, if the working relationship becomes abusive or unworkable, or if continuing the engagement would require us to act unethically or against a platform’s terms of service (e.g. manipulative link schemes, fake reviews, cloaking).
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless otherwise agreed in writing for a specific client engagement.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes affecting active engagements will be communicated directly to you before they take effect. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
